Biography
Graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1996 with a first class honors degree in drawing and painting; and latterly studied at Winchester School of Art in Barcelona graduating with an MA in Fine Art in 1998.
Jayne is essentially a landscape painter but not in a traditional sense. Working in a range of mediums her aim is to explore and document our relationship with the environment. The starting point for most of her work is a journey. This could be a short walk, a car journey or a trip further afield.
Jayne has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout the UK. Most recently she was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Watercolour Prize 2020 and The Westmorland Landscape Prize 2019.
Her work is held in many public and private collections including those of Standard Life Aberdeen, Grizedale Arts, Edinburgh College of Art and Art in Healthcare.
