John Boak

A native of Perthshire, now living in the East Lothian village of Aberlady.
Studied architecture at Dundee College of Art and worked as an architect in Scotland, The Middle East and Africa.
Started painting whilst working in Saudi Arabia inspired by the desert landscapes around Jeddah.
For many years combined painting and architecture before turning to full time painting and photography in 1993.
Previously painted in a variety of mediums, now painting exclusively in acrylics and oils.
Over the years has been involved in a number of one-man and group exhibitions from the Middle East to Scottish galleries in Perthshire, Angus, East Lothian and Edinburgh.
Paintings are held in numerous private collections in the UK, Europe, North America, Japan, Australia and the Middle East purchased through galleries and personal commissions.
